LIRR News – Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Severe weather is causing service disruptions on the LIRR, with reports of flooding leading to delays and cancellations across several branches. The Port Washington Branch is temporarily suspended in both directions because of water on the tracks, and there are residual delays on other lines.

An LIRR train was stranded with more than 100 passengers aboard in Queens, while floodwaters submerged roads. The MTA is telling riders to check the TrainTime app for real-time information and prepare for additional travel time. Governor Hochul has declared a state of emergency, and crews are working to restore safe service as conditions improve throughout the region.
